3 Recipes to Fix Your Sugar Fix

When you’re in the clutch of an intense sugar craving it can be hard to break free. Here are a few nutrient dense, naturally sweet and satisfying recipes that will calm your cravings and help you create lasting freedom from your sugar demons.

 Apple Pie Protein Balls

Makes about 12 balls 

  • 1 ½ cups dried apple, roughly chopped

  • 3 tablespoons almond butter

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg

  • ½ cup shredded, unsweetened coconut flakes

  • pinch of sea salt

Add all the ingredients to a blender or food processor. Blend until well incorporated. Rub a dab of coconut oil onto your hands and roll the mixture into individual balls. Store in the refrigerator for about an hour before serving.

Clean Juice

  • 6 leaves kale

  • 1 cucumber

  • 3 sprigs mint leaves

  • 4 kale leaves

  • 2 stalks celery

  • dash of cayenne

Chia Pudding

Serves 1

  • 1 cup nondairy milk

  • 1/3 cup chia seeds

  • Fresh in-season fruit, chopped (apple, orange, grapefruit, pear, etc.)


Add nondairy milk and chia seeds to a bowl. Mix and let it sit for about 5 minutes so the chia seeds can absorb the milk. Top with fresh, in-season fruit.

 To make warm pudding, simply heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Be sure to not boil the milk. Add the milk to the chia seeds, mix, and top with fresh fruit.
